Abstract

The Nubian Formation in the Sirt Basin, Libya, represents a significant hydrocarbon reservoir. This study evaluates its petrophysical properties in three wells (Q2-97, 3V3, and 3V4) using well logs and core analysis, processed via FlexInLog software. Lithologically, the formation comprises sandstone, siltstone, mudstone, and shale, with dominant clay minerals including illite and chlorite. Effective porosity averages 6.52%–9.9%, while permeability ranges from 0.7–2.3 mD. Hydrocarbon saturation is highest in Well 3V3 (66%) and Well 3V4 (49%), with net pay thicknesses of 273 and 324 feet, respectively. In comparison, Well Q2-97 has a lower net pay thickness of 235 feet. These findings enhance understanding of the reservoir’s quality and productivity potential.
