Abstract
This study investigates the effect of the Difron-4201 depressor additive on asphaltene–tar–paraffin sediments (ATPS) deposition in high-paraffin oil under laminar and turbulent flow regimes. At this time, the oil product of well No. 690 of the Narimanov Oil and Gas Production Plant was used as the object of research, and the “cold tube” method was used to determine the amount of asphaltene-tar-paraffin sediments. During the experiments, the additive concentrations of 200, 400, 600, 800 and 1000 g/t were used. Thus, the ATPS process was determined by the “cold tube” method in oil samples both without reagents and with certain concentrations of the depressor additive added. At this time, the highest efficiency was observed at a concentration of 800 g/t for the laminar regime (efficiency of 99%), and at a concentration of 600 g/t for the turbulent regime (efficiency of 99%). However, in both regimes, a decrease in the effect was observed when the concentration was increased again. The highest efficiency of the Difron-4201 depressor additive was in the turbulent regime and the optimal concentration was determined to be 600 g/t. The novelty of this study lies in the comparative evaluation of the Difron-4201 depressor additive under laminar and turbulent flow regimes and the determination of different optimal concentrations depending on the hydrodynamic conditions.
